Clemson to play host to fifth-ranked Virginia Saturday night.

The Clemson women’s soccer team will play host to fifth-ranked Virginia on Saturday night (November 1) at 7:00 p.m. at Historic Riggs Field in the team’s last regular season home match of the season.

Clemson will enter the match with a 10-5-2 record overall and a 3-3 mark in the ACC. The Lady Tigers are ranked 22nd by Soccer America and 23rd by the NSCAA. Virginia will enter the match with a 12-3-2 record overall and a 3-2-1 mark in league play. The Cavaliers are ranked sixth by Soccer America and fifth by the NSCAA poll.

This will be the last home match for five Lady Tiger seniors. The list of seniors includes: Allison Mitchell, Lauren Whitt, Leigh Ann Harrison, Tanya Peterson, and Mary Jean Sullivan.

Mitchell. a native of Signal Mountain, TN has played in 81 matches for her career and has started 80 contests. She has scored five career goals and has nine career assist for 19 points.

Lauren Whitt, a doctorial student from Birmingham, AL, is a transfer from Vanderbilt University. Whitt has started all 17 matches this season and has a 0.77 goal allowed average. The goalkeeper has also tallied 56 saves. She has graduated from Vanderbilt with a bachelor’s degree in Human and Organizational Development in May, 2002. She received a Master’s of Education from Vanderbilt as well.

Leigh Ann Harrison, a native of Simpsonville, SC is a biological sciences major. She has appeared in 19 matches during her career and has started eight. She has 37 career saves.

Tanya Peterson, a defender, is a special education major. The native of Glen Ellyn, IL has played in 61 matches and has started 28.

Mary Jean Sullivan is a senior forward from Billerica, MA. She has played in 14 career matches and has scored two goals for four points. She is a marketing major
