Clemson to Face Virginia Friday Night

CLEMSON, SC–The Clemson men’s soccer team will play host to sixth-ranked Virginia Friday night at 7:00 p.m. on Historic Riggs Field. Clemson has a 5-3-1 record overall and a 0-3 mark in ACC play. Virginia is 7-1-2 overall and 3-0 in league play.

The Cavaliers are ranked sixth nationally. UVA is coming off a 2-2 tie at home against Monmouth Wednesday evening. Clemson defeated Jacksonville, 7-1. Junior Adam Cristman leads Virginia with 17 points as he has seven goals and three assists.

Clemson is led by junior forward Dane Richards, who has four goals, three assists and 11 points. Senior midfielder Justin Moore has assisted on five goals. Clemson goalkeeper Phil Marfuggi has a 1.26 GAA and 39 saves.

Virginia leads the series with the Tigers, 21-18-5. The Cavaliers defeated Clemson, 2-0, last season in Clemson.
