Clemson To Compete in Georgia Diving Invitational

Jan. 1, 2004

The Clemson swimming and diving teams will participate in the Georgia Diving Invitational Jan. 3-5 in Athens, GA.

Sophomore diver Jessica Watcke has led Clemson women in diving events so far this season. Watcke has finished in the top three in all but one dual meet competition this season, and is coming off wins in the one and three-meter diving events at the Florida Atlantic Winter Invitational on Dec. 20.

Junior Eric Shulick has already qualified for the NCAA Zone Diving Regional and leads the Tiger men. Shulick qualified with a score of 292.12 that won the one-meter competition against Florida State. Last season, he placed 13th at the 2003 NCAA Diving Zone B Regional to advance to the NCAA Championships, the first Clemson diver to do so since the 1987-88 season. Shulick placed second in the one-meter event at the Florida Atlantic Winter Invitational.
