Clemson Swimming and Diving Announces 2010-11 Schedule

Aug. 11, 2010

CLEMSON, SC – The Clemson Men’s and Women’s Swimming and Diving team announced its schedule for the 2010-11 season on Monday. The schedule will feature five meets with ACC opponents as well as a three-day meet at Georgia Tech. The diving team will participate in a three-day invite at the University of Tennessee.

The Orange and White meet will be held September 17 to give fans a chance to watch the team before the regular season starts.

The Tigers will open the season at home with Davidson. They will then travel to Columbia, South Carolina to face in-state rival South Carolina. They will host Georgia Tech before traveling to Atlanta for the Georgia Tech Invite. Then they will make their annual winter training trip to Florida Atlantic.

In the second half of the season, the Tigers will host a meet with North Carolina and Kentucky and then their last home meet will be with NC State. They will face conference foes Florida State and Duke on the road along with non-conference opponent Emory.

The ACC Championships will be held in Atlanta, GA for both the men and the women. The women’s will be held February 16-19 along with men’s diving, and the men’s will take place February 23-26.

The women’s NCAA Championships will take place in Austin, Texas at University of Texas from March 17-19 and the men’s will be in St. Paul, Minnesota at University of Minnesota. The NCAA Zone Diving Championships are going to be held in Athens, Georgia at University of Georgia.

Last season the men’s team finished with a record of 6-4 overall and 1-4 in the conference. They set three school records and added eight top ten times. Eric Bruck earned All-ACC after a second place finish in the ACC Championships and Seth Broster earned an ACC Performer of the Week honor. They only lost four seniors so the men will be returning a large group of veterans.

The women finished the 2009-10 season with an 8-5 record overall and 2-4 in the ACC. They had two school records set and one pool record, along with 14 top ten times. The women’s team will be returning its top 25 recruiting class that has a year of experience to build on.
