Clemson Student-Athletes Post 3.02 GPA in Fall Semester

CLEMSON, S.C. – Nine of Clemson’s athletic programs recorded semester grade point ratios above a 3.0, and 248 student-athletes posted fall semester marks at 3.0 and above, according to data provided by the University Office of Institutional Research.

Men’s and women’s cross country, men’s and women’s soccer, rowing, volleyball, diving, women’s golf and women’s tennis each eclipsed 3.0 as a team, with men’s cross country posting a department-high 3.63 semester GPA. Men’s and women’s soccer, each of which advanced to the NCAA Tournament during the fall semester, with the men claiming the ACC Tournament Title, posted 3.07 and 3.42 grade averages, respectively.

“I’m proud of the hard work and commitment our student-athletes have put into their classwork and earning such a high grade point average,” director of athletics Dan Radakovich said. “Each of our coaches and every member of our Vickery Hall staff helps create a culture which emphasizes the importance of achievement in the classroom.”

More than 55 percent of student-athletes achieved over a 3.0, up seven percent from the previous fall semester. Additionally, 52 student-athletes finished the term with a perfect 4.0 GPA.
