Clemson, No. 2 Nebraska Battle To 0-0 Tie

CLEMSON, S.C.–Clemson and Nebraska tied 0-0 in a women’s intercollegiate soccer match at Clemson, SC Sunday afternoon.

Clemson is now 6-3-1 overall, while Nebraska is 8-1-1 this season. Nebraska is ranked second in the Soccer America poll and fourth in the NSCAA poll. Clemson is unranked in both polls. After a 90 minutes of regulation, the two teams played two 15 minute periods of overtime.

Nebraska outshot the Lady Tigers 18-16. However, Clemson goalkeeper Katie Carson had a school record 15 saves against Nebraska’s attack. Carson broke former Lady Tigers’ Meredith McCullen record of 14 saves set against N.C. State on November 3, 1994.

Clemson will play host to Virginia on Saturday October 2, at 8:00 p.m. in the Lady Tigers’ next action. The game time was moved from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m due to the Clemson-North Carolina football game starting time of 3:30 p.m.
