Clemson Men’s Track And Field To Compete At Virginia Tech Last Chance Meet

CLEMSON, S.C. – Six members of the Clemson men’s track and field team will compete at the Virginia Tech Last Chance meet to be held Saturday in Blacksburg, VA. Two of the six, Airese Currie and Roy Cheney and Michael Bolling will also compete this weekend.

Harper, a senior from Edinburgh, Trinidad, has qualified in two events. He has a season-best and provisional time of 6.69, currently ranking him 12th in the nation. Harper also qualified in the 200m at the ACC Championships with a time of 21.23. He will compete in the 60m, 200m and as a member of the 4x400m relay team this weekend.

A senior from Columbia, SC, Spain provisionally qualified for the NCAA Championships in the 400m. He won the event at the conference meet with a time of 47.23. Spain will compete in the 400m and as a member of the 4x400m relay team this weekend.

Griffin will compete in the 60m, after posting a season-best time of 6.76. The junior from Greenville, SC, was the ACC Champion in the event. Griffin will also compete in the 200m, an event in which he owns a season-best time of 22.06.

Currie, a sophomore from Columbia, SC, has a season-best time of 6.79 in the 60m. He earned all-conference honors this season with a third-place finish in the 60m. Currie will compete in the 60m and 200m this weeekend.

A freshman from Grovetown, GA, Cheney will compete as a member of the Tigers’ 4x400m relay team and in the 60m hurdles. He earned all-conference honors in the hurdles with a third-place finish at the ACC Championships, and has a season-best time of 8.04 in the event. Cheney posted a season-best time of 48.95 in the 400m at the ACC Championships.

Bolling will also compete in the 4x400m relay. The sophomore from Willingboro, NJ, has a season-best time of 47.98 in the 400m, set at the Kentucky Invitational.
