Clemson Men’s Tennis Schedule Announced

CLEMSON, SC – The 2010-11 Clemson men’s tennis schedule has been announced by Tiger Head Coach Chuck McCuen.

Clemson will play six dates in the fall including the Georgia Tech Invitational on October 2-4 and the ITA Regional Tournament in Chapel Hill, NC on October 14-18. The Tiger will open the dual match segment of their schedule on Saturday, January 15 with a double header with Wofford and Presbyterian College. After home matches with The Citadel, Davidson, and Gardner-Webb, the Tigers will play at Georgia on Tuesday, January 25.

On January 28-29, the Tigers will play in the ITA Regional Team Indoor. Clemson will play USC Upstate in the first round at Knoxville, TN. Tennessee will play San Diego. The two winners and losers will meet the next day in Knoxville, TN.

The Tigers will have a six match home stand that will begin in February and continue through early match that will include DePaul, College of Charleston, Furman, Marquette, Florida State, and William & Mary. Clemson will play at Florida Atlantic and at Miami on March 18 and 20.

The Tigers will play at South Carolina on March 23. Clemson will play host to ACC foes Wake Forest, N.C State, and Georgia Tech to finish the month of March.

After a road trip to Maryland and Boston College, Clemson will finish out the home segment of its schedule with matches against North Carolina and Duke. In the final weekend of the regular season, Clemson will play at Virginia on April 15, and at Virginia Tech on April 17.

The Tigers will play in the ACC Tournament in Cary, NC on April 21-24.

“This year we are looking forward to a more challenging schedule,” said Clemson Head Coach Chuck McCuen. “We will renew the series with Georgia and will play South Carolina in Columbia. The ACC will again be a very tough conference this season. We look forward to this tough competition as it will help with our improvement for our players and as a program.”
