Clemson Men’s Tennis Receives NCAA Tournament Bid

CLEMSON, SC – The Clemson men’s tennis team received a NCAA Tournament bid as announced by the NCAA Wednesday afternoon. The Tigers will travel to Champaign, IL on May 9-11 for the first round of the tournament. On the first day, Clemson will face Ball State and Butler will take on the #1 seed Illinois. The winners of these matches will face off on the second day of competition. The times and dates of these matches are to be announced.

Clemson finished second in regular season ACC play and has a 24-10 overall record. This will be the 20th time that Clemson has been to the NCAA Tournament since the format was changed to a team format in 1977. The Tigers went to 11 straight NCAA team tournaments between the years of 1979 and 1989, the second longest streak of NCAA tournament appearances in Clemson team sports history. In the 19 total appearances, Clemson has an 11-19 overall record. Clemson has reached the Final Sixteen 11 times, and the Final Eight six times.
