Clemson Men’s Soccer To Host Duke On Wednesday

Clemson, SC – The Clemson men’s soccer team will host Duke on Wednesday night at 7:00PM at Historic Riggs Field. The Tigers enter Wednesday’s match with a 12-4 overall record and a 2-2 mark in the ACC. The Blue Devils are 8-9 overall and 2-3 in the ACC.

Clemson is ranked 10th by Soccer America, and 13th in the NSCAA according to the polls released November 5. In the soccertimes.com poll, Clemson is ranked 10th.

The Tigers are 17-18-3 all-time against Duke and they will look to improve on last year’s 3-2 loss to the Blue Devils in Durham on September 17.

Clemson is led in scoring Ian Fuller with seven goals and seven assists for 21 points. Dimelon Westfield has eight goals and four assists for 20 points. Doug Warren has a 0.86 goal allowed average. He has allowed only 12 goals in 1,259 minutes of play this season.

Duke is led by Jordan Cila who has eight goals and eights assists for 24 points this season. Demetrio Sanchez is second on the team with six goals and two assists for 14 points.

Wednesday’s match against Duke is the first of two key remaining home ACC matches for the Tigers before next week’s ACC Tournament. The Men’s ACC Tournament will be held November 15-18 at Clemson’s Historic Riggs Field. It will be the third time the tournament has been played in Clemson. The Tigers last hosted the event back in 1994.
