Clemson Men’s Cross Country To Travel To Maine For FinishLynx/Murray Keatinge Invitational

CLEMSON, SC – The Clemson men’s cross country team will travel to Orono, Maine, to compete in the 12th annual FinishLynx/Murray Keatinge Invitational on Saturday, Oct. 4. The Tigers will face teams from 10 other colleges and universities across the nation, including Stanford, Indiana, Florida, Oklahoma, Butler, Central Connecticut State, Holy Cross, New Hampshire, Vermont, Maine, and Canada’s St. Francis Xaver University. The men’s five-mile race is scheduled to begin at 10:00 AM.

The Stanford Cardinal, the defending national champions, are currently ranked #1 in the Mondo national men’s cross country rankings as well as in the West Region. Indiana is ranked 19th in the Mondo poll, and is fifth in the Great Lakes Region, while Florida is #2 in the South Region poll. Butler, who is ninth in the Great Lakes Region, received votes in this week’s national poll. Oklahoma ranks seventh in the Midwest Region, and New Hampshire is 15th in the Northeast Region. Clemson enters this weekend ranked fifth in the Southeast Region poll.

Nine Tigers will make this weekend’s trip to Maine. Senior Matt Pimentel and Matt Pimentel and Clay Pendleton have finished among the top 25 runners in both meets this season.
