Clemson Men’s Cross Country Athletes To Compete At NCAA Championships

Clemson’s Jason Meany and Scott Shaw will compete at the 2002 NCAA Cross Country Championships on Monday. Meany, a senior from Liverpool, NY, and Shaw, a junior from East Syracuse, NY, will compete on the 10K championship course at 1:15 PM in Terre Haute, IN.

Meany, the 2002 Southeast Region Champion and Runner of the Year, automatically qualified for the NCAA Championships with a time of 29:50.3. Shaw, who placed third in the Southeast Region meet earning all-region honors, also automatically qualified in 29:52.3. Meany and Shaw will compete to become the Tigers’ first All-Americans since 1988 when Yehezkel Halifa and Dov Kremer earned the accolades with second and sixth-place finishes, respectively.
