Clemson Finishes Ninth Nationally in Men’s Soccer Attendance

CLEMSON, SC – The Clemson men’s soccer team averaged 2,111 fans at its home games during the 2011 season. The 2,111 figure is ranked ninth nationally in statistics released by the NCAA. Clemson has been ranked in the top 20 in attendance since the 2000 season. In 2010, Clemson was ranked 20th nationally in home attendance. This year, the Tigers jumped 11 places.

Clemson broke the regular season attendance record on September 2, 2011, at Historic Riggs Field. A crowd of 7,423 was on hand as the Tigers defeated South Carolina 2-0. The record for the largest crowd ever at Historic Riggs Field is 8,332, when the Tigers defeated San Diego State 2-0 in the National Championship match on December 6, 1987.
