Clemson defeats Emory 7-0

Clemson, SC–Sander Koning won at both number one singles and number one doubles in leading Clemson to a 7-0 win over Emory in a men’s intercollegiate tennis match at Clemson, SC Friday evening.

With the win, Clemson improves to 8-2 on the year, while Emory falls to 1-1 this season. Clemson Head Coach Chuck Kriese won his 599th match in his career with tonight’s victory. Kriese is in his 30th season at Clemson. He will be looking for his 600th career victory against Tennessee Tech Saturday afternoon. Ironically, Kriese graduated from Tennessee Tech in 1972.

The Tigers will play Tennessee Tech on Saturday morning at 8:30 a.m. at the Hoke Sloan Tennis Center on the Clemson campus. Clemson will also play host to Winthrop at 5:00 p.m.
