CLEMSON, SC – Clemson University has reached an agreement with 94.9 “The Surf” FM in North Myrtle Beach, SC to be the exclusive radio carrier of all Tiger football and men’s basketball games in Horry County. The partnership will allow fans the opportunity to pick up the Clemson broadcasts on an FM signal up and down the Grand Strand during the 2008-09 and 2009-10 seasons.

The Surf is one of the state’s premier Beach Music and Classic hits stations. With a tower located in Loris, SC, the 25,000 watt FM signal boasts a coverage area that spans as far south as Georgetown, SC and up north into the outskirts of Wilmington, NC.

Harvey Graham, President of The Surf and long time supporter of Clemson Athletics, proved integral in forming the partnership. Graham works with an on-air staff at the station that includes Billy Smith, Ray Scott and Ted Bell.

“We are excited to add 94.9 FM to the Clemson radio affiliate list. Harvey and his staff do a wonderful job running the station and will make the Clemson fans in the Myrtle Beach area proud to call The Surf its home for Tiger football and basketball,” said Robert Gahagan, General Manager of Clemson Tiger Sports Properties.
