Clemson and UNC-Greensboro play to a 2-2 Draw in Exhibition Action

Aug. 18, 2007

CLEMSON, SC–The Tigers’ Eric Cava scored one goal and assisted on the other as Clemson and UNC-Greensboro played to a 2-2 draw in a men’s soccer exhibition match played at Clemson, SC Saturday night.

Clemson scored first at the 37:33 mark as Eric Cava scored on an unassisted goal. Tate Parrish put the Tigers ahead 2-0 under two minutes later with an assist by Cava.

UNC-Greensboro scored at the 41:20 point into the game as Tebatso Manyama scored with an assist by Tim Masters. The Spartans tied the game early in the second half as Thomas Campbell scored at the 58:31 mark. Michael Bonilla was credited with the assist.

“This match created more questions for us,” said Clemson Head Coach Trevor Adair. “The guys coming off the bench need to step up and be ready to play. I thought we played well until David Newton was hurt. We made mental mistakes. It was a typical exhibition match, some good parts and some bad parts. We still have a lot of work to do.”

Clemson will play at Georgia State in another exhibition match at Atlanta, GA next Saturday afternoon at 4:00 p.m.

The Tigers open the regular season on August 31, as Clemson plays host to South Carolina at 7:30 p.m.
