Clemson 12th in Latest College Golf Poll

CLEMSON, SC – Clemson has moved up to 12th in the latest Golf World Coaches Poll. Clemson is second among ACC schools with 217 poll points.

Auburn, who has already won two tournaments, is first with 427 points, while Oklahoma State is second with 394. UCLA is third, followed by fourth-ranked Stanford. Alabama and Georgia Tech are tied for fifth, while Texas is seventh, Texas A& M is eighth, Arkansas is ninth and Florida is 10th.

Southern Cal heads up the second ten, followed by Clemson, Washington, San Diego State and California is number-15. Georgia and Illinois are tied for 16th, Florida State is 18th, Tennessee is 19th and Oregon is 20th.

Clemson moved up from 16th in the preseason poll with a fifth-place finish in the Carpet Classic earlier this month. That 12-team tournament included six of the top 20 teams in the nation.

Larry Penley’s Tigers return to action next Monday at the Jerry Pate Intercollegiate in Birmingham, AL.
