Cheyenne Moore Named ACC Freshman of the Week

ACC Rookie of the Week Clemson’s Cheyenne Moore averaged 14.5 points and 3.5 rebounds in a pair of ACC games versus North Carolina and Virginia. The Baltimore, Md., freshman had 14 points and three rebounds in Wednesday’s 77-58 loss to sixth-ranked North Carolina. In Saturday’s 81-79 defeat at Virginia, the 6-6, 190-pound forward tallied a career-high 15 points and pulled down four rebounds. On the week, Moore was 11-of-22 (.500) from the field and 7-of-14 (.500) from three-point range.

ACC Player of the Week Duke’s Shelden Williams led the fourth-ranked Blue Devils to a pair of road conference wins, averaging 20.5 points, 10.0 rebounds, 1.5 steals while shooting 83.3 percent from the field and 91.7 percent from the free throw line. In Wednesday’s 92-83 win at Miami, the Forest Park, Okla., junior scored a career-high 30 points on 11-of-12 shooting from the field and 8-of-8 shooting from the free throw line. In addition, Williams added seven rebounds and a blocked shot in the victory. In Saturday’s 88-56 win at Florida State, Williams posted his ninth double-double of the season, and the 27th of his career, with an 11-point, 13-rebound effort against the Seminoles.
