CLEMSON, SC – On Wednesday, Clemson Head Diving Coach Leslie Hasselbach Adams announced the signing of Sarah Braun during the fall signing period.
“Sarah Braun is exactly the type of student-athlete I want in our women’s diving program,” Hasselbach Adams said. “She has received excellent coaching from Joe Lyons at the Tualatin Hills Dive Club of Beaverton and is a top-ranked prospect. It is a tribute to Clemson that Sarah chose to continue her academic and athletic career with the Tigers. I am looking forward to working with this amazing young lady.
“Braun is a champion who will set a standard for future Clemson divers.”
A Beaverton, OR native, Braun was crowned U.S. Diving Age Group National Champion in the three-meter springboard over the summer. She has qualified for the meet seven additional times and also has a runner-up finish at the meet on her resume. She has qualified for the U.S. Diving West National meet seven times in the one-meter, six times in the three-meter, and was a fourth place finalist in the platform. Braun has qualified for the U.S. Diving Junior National Meet five times in her prep career, finishing as a national finalist in the platform with a top ten performance.
Braun attended Southridge High School and competed for the Tualatin Hills Diving Club in Beaverton. A national prospect, she chose Clemson over offers from James Madison, Notre Dame, Utah, and Richmond. Braun plans to pursue a degree in mathematics or math education at Clemson.
