Boyd Named Walter Camp National Player of the Week

NEW HAVEN, CT – The Walter Camp Football Foundation has announced its Football Bowl Subdivision National Offensive and Defensive Players of the Week, presented by Generation UCAN (www.generationucan.com/waltercamp), for games ending November 17.

OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK:Tajh Boyd, ClemsonRedshirt Junior, Quarterback, Hampton, VA/PhoebusClemson redshirt junior quarterback Tajh Boyd accounted for 529 yards and eight touchdowns as the ninth-ranked Tigers defeated NC State, 62-48.   Boyd completed 30-of-44 passes for 426 yards and five touchdowns and also rushed for 103 yards and three more scores as Clemson improved to 10-1, 7-1 in the Atlantic Coast Conference.  Earlier in the week, Boyd was one of 15 players named to the Walter Camp Player of the Year Watch List.

DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK:Shayne Skov, StanfordSenior, Linebacker, Piedmont, CA/Trinity PawlingStanford senior linebacker Shayne Skov registered 10 tackles, including one for a loss, as the 14th-ranked Cardinal defeated top-ranked Oregon, 17-14, in overtime.  Skov led a Stanford defensive unit that  held the Ducks, which had scored at least 42 points in 13 consecutive games, to just 14 points in the contest.  With the victory, Stanford improved to 9-2, 7-1 in the Pac-12.

About the Award: This is the ninth year that the Walter Camp Football Foundation will honor one offensive and one defensive player as its national Football Bowl Subdivision player of the week during the regular season.  Recipients are selected by a panel of national media members and administered by the Foundation.

Boyd, Ford and Beasley Earn College Football Performance Weekly Awards

Tajh Boyd was named National Quarterback of the Week and Brandon Ford earned National Tight End of the Week honors as named by College Football Performance Awards for Week 12 of the college football season.  In addition, Vic Beasley was named an Honorable Mention Defensive Lineman of the Week by the organization.
