Bert Henderson Associate Executive Director

Bert Henderson’s Clemson career began in 1978, as a trainer under Fred Hoover and it was appropriate that Henderson head the ceremonies honoring Hoover at his 40th year of service and retirement from Clemson.

He served as basketball trainer for Bill Foster’s basketball team from 1982-84 and his duties included handling all travel arrangements and administrative duties for the team.

In April of 1985, he rejoined the Athletic Department as IPTAY’s first Associate Executive Secretary after serving in the Alumni office working with Clemson Clubs and coordinating away game headquarters.

Henderson’s duties in IPTAY have been varied. He provides leadership in the areas of Life Memberships, Planned Giving, coordinates the Orange & White, has served as advisor for he IPTAY Student Advisory Board (ISAB), the IPTAY Collegiate Club, oversees the Tiger Cub program, as well as administrative duties.

Active in civil and church activities, Henderson serves as a Deacon in his church and is an active member of the Tiger Brotherhood. He was honored this past year by Dean and Ann Coleman when they endowed a trainer’s position in his name.

Henderson is a 1978 graduate of Mars Hill College with a Master’s degree from Clemson. He is married to Lee Ann Hudson and they have two daughters, Amy Lee (13) and Kimberly Ann (11).
