This information is intended to help guide media members’ planning for the 2021 Clemson Baseball season at Doug Kingsmore Stadium. There are several access guidelines and safety protocols in place for media access and coverage in 2021 as a function of COVID-19.
Note that all protocols and guidelines are subject to change pending additional recommendations by Clemson Athletics, Clemson University and the ACC as well as government and health officials at both the state and national levels.
The health, safety and well-being of all who enter our facilities are the top priorities of Clemson Baseball and Clemson Athletics, and we ask for patience, cooperation and understanding with these updated protocols in challenging times.
It is the goal of Clemson Athletics to provide a safe working environment while also granting the media needed access to coaches and student-athletes.

The Doug Kingsmore Stadium press box is operating at a limited capacity in 2021. Given the limited space available and the potential fluidity of attendees, credentials are issued on a game-by-game basis, similar to other Clemson Athletic events this year.
Clemson’s philosophy is to include as many outlets as possible in the limited press box area spaces and therefore presently plans to limit each outlet to just one on-site media writer. It is the responsibility of the outlet to determine the requested on-site representative of the organization.
It is also imperative that media members only request an in-person credential for games where attendance is certain. Outlets may apply for additional virtual-only credentials, which allow access to postgame interviews.
Due to limited capacity and COVID-19 protocols, credential requests from media members who regularly cover Clemson will be prioritized.
All media members are required to apply for credentials on a game-by-game basis. To ensure an up-to-date picture of both credential demand and the health/availability of requested attendees, credential applications open Monday at 8 a.m. for all games for the following Tuesday through Sunday as well as the following Monday.
To request a credential for a particular game, email Brian Hennessy (firstname.lastname@example.org) with the following information:
An approval/denial reply email is sent as soon as possible after review or deadline passing.
Media members must wear a mask/face covering at all times and work from the designated media areas.
All Zoom interviews are HERE. Email Brian Hennessy (email@example.com) for the password to the Zoom interviews.
Information for the pool photographer/videographer positions as well as uploading/downloading photos to the media portal can be found in the PHOTOGRAPHY & VIDEOGRAPHY section below.
See the SAFETY PROTOCOLS section below for acknowledgment of risk involved with COVID-19 when applying for a credential to games at Doug Kingsmore Stadium.
See the WILL CALL section below for information on credential pickup information and timing.
Notes, stats, stories and other information are emailed out on a game and series basis from the athletic communications office. Contact Brian Hennessy (firstname.lastname@example.org) to be added to the email list.
Concessions vouchers for food and drinks are available for working media members upon request. There are no food or drinks available for media members in the press box. Media members may bring prepacked snacks or drinks if desired.
ACC COVID-19 protocols stipulate that all media interviews for Head Coach Monte Lee and players postgame are conducted virtually via Zoom. For media members in attendance as well as media members not in attendance, you are able to access the Zoom call and ask questions during the live postgame interview session HERE.
Email Brian Hennessy (email@example.com) for the password for the Zoom calls.
Head Coach Monte Lee is available approximately 5-15 minutes following the game’s conclusion. One or more players may be available on a case-by-case basis, as the players follow Coach Lee’s availability. All interview sessions are on one Zoom call.
Below are the guidelines to follow during the Zoom interviews:
Recordings of the Zoom interviews are uploaded to the YouTube page HERE.
Contact the opponent athletic communications contact for any potential postgame media availability, which must be done virtually as well.

There are no designated media parking passes available for the 2021 season. There is free parking available in the McFadden Building parking lot, beyond the left field fence and in Memorial Stadium’s West endzone parking lot (lot 5). Click HERE for the stadium and parking lot diagram.
Due to COVID-19, the ACC has instituted policies at all member institutions, consistent with what has been done with other sports. The only media members permitted in the designated photo/video areas by the ACC are one (1) pool photographer and one (1) pool videographer.
If your outlet has interest in nominating your photographer/videographer for consideration for providing photos/videos on a pool basis and would like to apply for a credential to a particular game, see the procedure and request periods in the CREDENTIALS section above.
Be advised that ethical standards for use of submitted photography and videography enforced by many news outlets is taken into consideration for the pool photography and pool videography positions.

Other requirements include:
In an effort to reduce contact points, Clemson does not provide printed materials such as scoresheets, media guides, game notes, rosters and statistics in the press box. Such information is available at ClemsonTigers.com.
If you exhibit any symptoms or have been around someone who has tested positive for COVID-19 within the two weeks leading up to that game, or if you know you will be unable to attend for any reason, contact Brian Hennessy (firstname.lastname@example.org) at the earliest possible convenience so we may reassign your credential to another member of your organization.
Media members are required to receive a temperature check and screening at Doug Kingsmore Stadium.
Media members are required to bring and wear a face covering and observe distancing guidelines whenever possible. Media members are also asked not to loiter in the press box.
Acknowledgement of Risk – Clemson University has taken enhanced health and safety measures to curb the spread of COVID-19. Follow all posted instructions while visiting Clemson’s campus. There is an inherent risk of exposure to COVID-19 in any public place where other people are present. COVID-19 is an extremely contagious disease that can lead to severe illness and death. According to the S.C. Department of Health & Environmental Control, persons 65 years of age and older and persons with underlying medical conditions are especially vulnerable. By requesting a media credential and/or visiting Clemson’s campus, you voluntarily assume all risks related to exposure to COVID-19.
Due to COVID-19 and social distancing guidelines, the main/largest room inside the press box is solely for game operations and communications personnel in 2021. Media members are prohibited from entering that room. Media members, with the exception of the two pool shooters, are also prohibited from entering the field level and competition enclosure at all times, including pregame and postgame.
The available seating locations (on a first-come, first-serve basis) for media members (writers) are as follows:
There are an additional two seats available (with no field view) as a workspace for the pool photographer and pool videographer directly outside the press box on the third-base side.
Media members must wear a mask/face covering at all times. The press box and surrounding media areas close 45 minutes after the game ends.
There are power strips available for use at those locations. We recognize that weather may cause discomfort in the outdoor areas, so be aware of those circumstances and forecasts when applying for a credential.
The official Clemson Baseball social media accounts for Twitter, Instagram and Facebook are @ClemsonBaseball.
