Barnett Named to All-ACC Academic Indoor Team

CLEMSON, S.C. — Grace Barnett was named to the 2015 All-ACC Academic Team for women’s indoor track & field, the conference office announced Wednesday. Barnett was the lone representative from the Tigers’ program.

The Pawleys Island, S.C., native had an outstanding debut indoor campaign as a redshirt freshman. She was All-ACC after placing third in the mile at the league meet in Blacksburg, Va. During the season, she established Clemson’s third-fastest mile in history — a time of 4:41.85 in a win at the Tyson Invitational. It was one of two prestigious wins for Barnett, who also took the top prize at the Armory Track Invitational in New York City.

Barnett is a sophomore academically, and is majoring in elementary education. She was a member of the 2013-14 ACC Academic Honor Roll.
