Rivers helped the Tiger men’s basketball team to its first appearance in the ACC Championship game since 1962. In Clemson’s 86-81 loss to North Carolina in Sunday’s title game, Rivers scored 28 points and was six-for-12 from behind the three-point line. He also added eight rebounds and six steals against the Tar Heels.
Rivers scored 10 points and had four rebounds in Clemson’s 78-74 upset of Duke in the tournament semifinal on Saturday. Against Boston College in Friday’s quarterfinal game, Rivers added 11 points, two rebounds and four steals to help the Tigers to an 82-48 victory over the Eagles. Rivers was named to the 2008 ACC All-Tournament First Team for his performance.
