Salge won two singles matches and two doubles matches over the weekend and helped the Tiger women’s tennis team to a 6-1 upset over ninth-ranked Duke in Durham, NC on Sunday. The 20th-ranked tandem of Salge and teammate Ani Mijacika recorded doubles upsets over two of the nation’s top-10 ranked doubles teams.
In Clemson’s 4-3 loss to #13 North Carolina on Saturday, Salge won her flight four singles match against Laura Reichert, 6-0, 6-2. In doubles play, Salge and Mijacika recorded their first upset of the weekend with an 8-5 victory over the Tar Heels’ 10th-ranked Sanaz Marand and Sophie Grabinski.
In the Tigers’ 6-1 upset over the #9 Blue Devils on Sunday, Salge defeated 17th-ranked Reka Zsilinszka 6-2, 6-4 at the number three singles position. At flight one doubles, Salge and Mijacika registered an 8-2 win over Duke’s third-ranked tandem of Melissa Mang and Amanda Granson.
