Mijacika won the flight one singles title at the 2008 Furman Fall Classic last weekend, earning the title for the second consecutive year. The junior lost just three games in her straight-set victory over Ana Zubori of South Carolina in the finals. She defeated Rosalia Alda of Tennessee and Laura Gioia of Furman en route to the tournament final.
