CLEMSON, SC – The #15 Clemson men’s soccer team will play host to #17 Furman Tuesday night at 7:00 p.m. at Historic Riggs Field. Clemson is 8-2-2 overall this season. The Tigers defeated #6 North Carolina 2-1 and played to a 1-1 draw with #10 Wake Forest this past Friday. The Tigers are led by Thomas McNamara with six goals and six assists for 18 points. Ara Amirkhanian has six goals and one assist for 13 points. Furman is 8-1-2 overall this season. The Paladins are riding a nine-match unbeaten streak. Furman defeated Davidson 2-0 last Saturday night.
Bobby Edet leads the Paladins with six goals and Tyler Peoples has four goals and one assist this season. Tuesday’s match will mark the 54th meeting between Clemson and Furman on the soccer field. Clemson leads the overall series 39-11-3. The series first started on February 14, 1934 in Greenville, SC. That match was the first collegiate soccer match played in the state of South Carolina. Two days later the two teams tied 2-2 in a match played at Historic Riggs Field.
