#11 Georgia Defeats Clemson 7-0

ATHENS, GA – The 11th-ranked Georgia Bulldogs defeated Clemson 7-0 in a men’s intercollegiate tennis match at Athens, GA Monday evening.

Georgia is now 1-0 on the year, while Clemson falls to 3-1 this season. The Tigers are ranked 53rd nationally. The match was played indoors at the Lindsey Hopkins Indoor Facility.

At number one singles, Javier Garrapiz defeated Clemson’s Derek DiFazio 6-2, 6-1. Garrapiz is ranked #13 nationally in the singles poll. At number two singles, the Bulldogs’ Wil Spencer defeated Kevin Galloway 7-5, 7-5.

At number one doubles, the #14th ranked doubles team of Javier Garrapiz and Hernus Pieters of Georgia defeated DiFazio and Galloway 8-1.

Clemson will play at the ITA Regional Team Indoors in Knoxville, TN this weekend in the Tigers’ next action.
