#11 Clemson Rowing Travels to Virginia for ACC & Big 10 Challenge

CLEMSON, SC – The 11th ranked Clemson Rowing team will travel to Lake Monticello, VA to participate in the ACC/Big 10 Challenge on Saturday, April 3 at 9:00 a.m. The event will feature some of the nation’s top crews as #2 Virginia, #10 Michigan, #11 Clemson and #12 Ohio State will be competing.

“It is always exciting to lineup against some of the best teams in the nation,” said Head Coach Richard Ruggieri. 10th ranked Michigan and 12th ranked Ohio State certainly fit the bill. We will need to be our best and focus on what we can control this weekend.”

Clemson will have five crews competing this weekend in the regatta, the Varsity 8+, Second Varsity 8+, Varsity 4+, Second Varsity 4+ and Novice 8+. The Tigers will take to the water against Ohio State in the morning beginning at 9:12 a.m. with the Novice 8+. The Second Varsity 4+ boats will race at 9:36 a.m., Varsity 4+ at 10:00 a.m., Second Varsity 8+ at 10:24 a.m. and Varsity 8+ at 10:48 a.m.

There will be a break and then Clemson will compete against Michigan in the afternoon starting at 1:12 p.m. with the Novice 8+ boats. Then Clemson’s first and second varsity 4+ will take on Michigan’s Varsity 4+ boat at 1:36 p.m. The Second Varsity 8+ boats from each school will then race at 2:00 p.m. and the Varsity 8+ boats will race at 2:24 p.m.

The Tigers are coming off of a success regatta against Alabama, Indiana, Marist and Purdue where they won all four races they competed in. Clemson’s Varsity 8+ was named ACC Crew of the Week for their performance that weekend.
