Young Women?s Golf Team?s Season Ends

CLE ELUM, Wash. – J.T. Horton’s all-freshmen squad failed to advance from the NCAA West Regional, finishing 13th in the field of 24. The top 8 teams move on to the NCAA National Championships held in Tulsa, Oklahoma May 20-23.

The Tigers battled tough weather conditions to shoot a 315 on Saturday, giving them a three-day total of 929, 15 shots out of eighth place. Ashlan Ramsey shot a 75 to lead the Tigers and finished tied for 39th place. Sloan Shanahan shot a 79, good enough to finish 27th. McKenzie Talbert shot an 80, Lauren Salazar shot an 81, and Jessica Hoang shot an 84.

Defending national champion Southern California posted the lowest three day total at 876. Host school Washington finished a close second with 877. Arizona State, Oklahoma, and Michigan State rounded out the top five followed by Iowa State, Texas A&M and Northwestern, all of whom will advance on.
