Women’s Track Raises Money For Breast Cancer

Nov. 20, 2003

The women’s track and field team showed its skill off the track on Tuesday as it donated $1,000 to the American Cancer Society. A matching donation was sent to Sisters by Choice, an organization based in Atlanta that helps breast cancer patients without adequate medical insurance receive the care they need. Sisters by Choice dedicated its Breast Cancer Awareness weekend to assistant coach Audrey Branch, whose mother passed away with breast cancer over the summer.

The women’s track team poses with Debbie Smith of the American Cancer Society and Relay For Life Chair Jennifer Burdette as it donates $1,000 to cancer research.
