Women’s Track & Field to Compete in Clemson Relays This Weekend

Meet Program

The Lady Tiger track & field team will compete at the Clemson Relays this weekend at the Rock Norman Outdoor Complex. Friday’s event will get underway at 3:00 PM with the javelin throw. Also on the first day, the women will compete in the pole vault and long jump. In the running events, the 3000m steeplechase and 10,000m will take place Friday afternoon as well.

Competing for the Lady Tigers on Friday will be Jenny Barton (3000m steeplechase), Tonya Nwankwo (long jump), Tia Perry (long jump), Charmayne Smith (long jump). The pole vault will feature Beth Jordan, Helen Kirkland, and Krissy Thompson from Clemson. Krystal Woods and Rachel McLaurin will be in the javelin throw.

On Saturday, the first event for the women will be the 5000m at 10:00 AM. Running for Clemson in that event will be Barton, Lauren Marriott, and Ashley Robinson. In the 4x1500m relay, the Lady Tigers will enter a team of Casey Phillips, Elizabeth Embler, and Soumiya Iyer.

Competing in the 100m hurdles will be Tia Perry. The 4x100m relay team of Miyamoto, Randi Hinton, Ope Sobanjo will compete at 1:20 PM. Hinton and Sobanjo will also run the 100m dash on Saturday. Competing in the 4x800m relay for the Lady Tigers will be Patrice McMillan, Caroline Rash, Thea Dix. The 400m hurdles will feature Hill, Perry, and Sobanjo.

Clemson’s 4x200m team will consist of Hinton, Perry, Hardy, and Sobanjo. The distance medley relay team will be Johnson, Dix, Rash, and McMillan. In the 4x400m competition, Clemson will enter a team of Hinton, Sobanjo, Hill, and Perry.

In the field events, Della Clark, Felicia Hawthorne, Anni Korhonen from Clemson. In the shot put, Clark will compete for the Lady Tigers along with Allison Bradshaw. The final event of the afternoon for the women is at 4:00 PM. Miyamoto, Nwankwo, and Smith will all be in the triple jump at that time.
