Women’s Track & Field Team Named All-Academic by Coaches Association

Aug. 11, 2011

CLEMSON, SC – The Clemson women’s track & field team was named All-Academic on Thursday by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association. The women’s squad compiled a cumulative 3.01 grade point average across the fall and spring semesters during the 2010-11 academic year.

The women’s team put together an outstanding academic effort together in the spring, posting a 3.22 cumulative GPA. For the year, Clemson’s women had a total of 47 honor roll selections. Fourteen student-athletes were named to the All-ACC Academic Teams for indoor and outdoor track & field.

Clemson’s women’s track & field program produced the ACC Outdoor Scholar Athlete-of-the-Year in December graduate Liane Weber, the conference announced in June. She finished her career in fine fashion, placing second at the NCAA Outdoor Championships in the heptathlon in June. She was also named to the Capital One Academic All-District Second Team, alongside Alyssa Kulik and Patricia Mamona.
