ATLANTA, Ga. – The 2011 ACC Swimming and Diving Championships got underway on Wednesday night with a pair of relays on the women’s side.

After only two events in the four-day meet, the Clemson Tigers are in eighth place with 40 points. North Carolina is currently in the lead with 74 points.

The meet began with the 200 medley relay, where Clemson’s team of Elizabeth Savage, Maddie Tarantolo, and Meg Anderson posted a time of 1:42.71–just outside of NCAA qualifying range. In the 800 freestyle relay, Kristen Redmond, Kelsey Krauss, Anderson, and Tori Cervone had an NCAA-B qualifying time of 7:21.28, which was good enough for sixth place.

The meet will resume on Thursday, with women’s swimming and men’s and women’s diving in action. Preliminaries will begin at 11 a.m. and finals will start at 7 p.m.
