Women’s Swimming and Diving Remains Fourth After Day Two of the ACC Championships

COLLEGE PARK, MD – The Clemson women’s swimming and diving team is ranked fourth after the second day of competition at the ACC Championships. The Tigers have earned 282.5 points through 13 events in the competition that is being held at Campus Recreation Center Recreation Natatorium. North Carolina maintains first place with a score of 432.5.

Lindsey Kroeger, Elise Thieler, Mandy Commons, and Jenna Burtch of the 200 medley relay team secured the ACC Championship. The relay team had a NCAA-B qualifying time of 1:40.76 setting a season best time.

Junior Elise Thieler finished third in the 100 butterfly posting a NCAA-B qualifying time of 55.20. Courtney Humes also qualified with a time of 55.57 finishing sixth in the event. Aurelie Gresset finished tenth in the 400 IM, with a time of 4:23.92. Gresset also earned NCAA-B qualifying time honors.

Jenna Burtch posted her second NCAA-B qualifying time of the day in the 200 freestyle. She finished eighth with a time of 1:50.86. Mandy Commons also had dual NCAA-B qualifying times. She captured her second qualifying time in the 100 breaststroke. Commons finished third with a time of 1:02.27.

Sophomore Lindsey Kroeger posted a fourth place finish in the 100 backstoke, with a time of 56.61. The 800 freestyle relay team of Nina Douglas, Christie Woodruff, Aurelie Gresset, and Patty Hider finished sixth with a time of 7:35.07.

The final day of competition begins tomorrow morning with preliminaries set to begin at 11:00 a.m and finals at 7:00 p.m.
