Women’s Soccer Improves To 3-0

Sept. 3, 1999

CLEMSON, S.C. – Deliah Arrignton (Pawleys Island, SC) scored two goals and added an assist to lead 10th ranked Clemson to a 3-0 victory over Washington, Friday night September 3 at Historic Riggs Field.

Clemson improves to 3-0 overall while Washington drops to 0-1. The Lady Tigers improve to 3-0 for the first time since 1997 and only the second time in school history.

Alison Burpee opened the scoring for Clemson when she took a cross form Audria Lyons and volleyed it into the back of the net with 12:35 gone in the first half. Arrington also assisted on the goal. Clemson was held scorelss the rest of the first half and did not add the insursance scores till early in the second half.

Arrington scored here first goal at the 67:51 mark when she followed up a shot from Heather Beem. Arrington added her second of the night when she took a cross from Julie Augustyniak and headed it past Lady Huskie keeper Hope Solo.

Clemson will return to action again this coming Sunday September 5 when they will travel Dallas, TX to take on the Southern Methodist Lady Mustangs. Start time is set for 8:30 p.m. eastern standard time.
