Women’s Hoops Honored by State Legislature

CLEMSON, S.C. – A Concurrent Resolution by the South Carolina State General Assembly was passed unanimously in Columbia, SC Wednesday honoring the 1998-99 Clemson Women’s Basketball team for its outstanding season.

The team and the coaching staff were honored Wednesday in both the House of Representatives and the Senate.

The 1998-99 Clemson Lady Tigers won the Atlantic Coast Conference Championship and won a school-record 26 games. Clemson advanced to the NCAA Tournament’s Final 16.

The Lady Tigers were also ranked 10th in the final Associated Press poll, the highest Clemson has ever been ranked in the final listing.

Also, the Lady Tigers’ Amy Geren was recognized for winning the National Three-Point Shooting contest, while Head Coach Jim Davis was acknowledged for his program’s 100% graduation rate for four-year players.
