Clemson, SC – The women’s cross country team is set for its second race of the season this weekend. Clemson will travel to Wilmington, NC to take part in the 22nd annual Adidas Seahawk Invitational. The race will be held at 6:30 PM and will feature Campbell, East Carolina, Mount Olive, Pfeiffer, and UNC-Wilmington.

The Lady Tigers got the season started last weekend with a fourth-place showing at the Gamecock Invitational in Columbia, SC. Two harriers placed inside the top 10 for Marcia Noad’s squad, including Laura Laughlin with her first-ever top-five finish. She was fourth overall with a time of 18:11.18 on the 5K course. It was also the best time of the sophomore’s career.

Sunday Ford had a career day as well for the Lady Tiger program. She was eighth in the individual race with a time of 18:45.33, also a personal best for the Piedmont, SC native. Rounding out the scoring effort last Friday were Lauren Klas (26th), Maggie Bernard (30th), and Lisa Brown (38th).
