LAHAINA, Hawaii – Arizona, which returns the top seven players from last season’s team that shared the Pac-10 title and was a No. 1 seed in the NCAA tournament, will open the Maui Invitational against Chaminade, the Division II host school for the eight-team field.

The brackets for the tournament, to be held at the Lahaina Civic Center Nov. 20-22, were announced Wednesday.

The other schools in the top half of the bracket are Connecticut and Dayton.

The lower half will have Maryland against Louisville and Illinois meeting UNLV.

All seven Division I teams in the field of the 17th annual tournament were in the NCAA tournament last season. Arizona, Connecticut, Maryland and Illinois all lost in the second round, while Dayton, Louisville and UNLV lost their first games.

The first Women’s Maui Invitational will be held this season with Tennessee, the national runner-up last season, meeting Clemson on Nov. 24, followed by Illinois against Alcorn State. The winners and losers will meet on Nov. 25.
