Women’s Basketball To Play Host To Charleston Southern On Sunday

CLEMSON, SC – The Clemson women’s basketball team will play host to Charleston Southern (3-6) at 2:00 pm on Sunday afternoon at Littlejohn Coliseum. Sunday’s game will broadcast in the Clemson area on WCCP-FM (104.9) with Dan Scott calling the play-by-play and Kanetra Queen returning to the headsets to provide color commentary.

Fans can also follow the action via livestats on www.clemsontigers.com or with the video broadcast as part of ACC Select. The team will be signing autographs following the game.

The Lady Tigers (6-5) are led by senior D’Lesha Lloyd with an 11.3 scoring average and 5.5 rebounds per game. Sophomore point guard Christy Brown is averaging 9.8 points per game with 3.8 assists and 3.1 rebounds per game as well. Meanwhile, Morganne Campbell ranks second in the ACC with 33.9 minutes played per game.

Scouting The Buccaneers Charleston Southern brings a 3-6 season record into Littlejohn Coliseum for Sunday’s contest with the Lady Tigers. The Buccaneers most recently fell to Kennesaw State on Friday night, 73-46.

The squad is lead by Pam Tolbert with a 16.9 scoring average and a team-best 5.7 rebounds per game. Tolbert has hit 21 three-point field goals on the year and also leads Charleston Southern with 30 assists and 23 steals.

The Lady Bucs’ second-leading scorer is Natalie Caldwell with an 8.6 per game average, while Tina DeCarvalho ranks second with 5.1 rebounds per game.

Clemson vs. Charleston Southern, The Series This afternoon’s game featuring Clemson and Charleston Southern will be the ninth meeting in history between the two schools, dating back to the 1975-76 season. The Lady Tigers have won all eight prior match-ups, including six on their home court. Most recently, Clemson defeated the Buccaneers, 68-48, at Littlejohn Coliseum during the 2001-02 season.
