Women’s Basketball Defeats Mississippi, 76-54

OXFORD, Miss. – Nikki Blassingame scored 16 points and had nine rebounds in leading Clemson to a 76-54 win over Mississippi in a women’s intercollegiate basketball game at Oxford, MS Monday night.

The Lady Tigers’ Amy Geren also had 14 points, eight rebounds, and seven assists. Amy Geren now has 992 career points. Tonight, she was 4-10 from the three-point line and had eight rebounds. Clemson is now 2-0 on the year, while Ole Miss falls to 0-1 this season. Clemson won the battle of the boards 50-36, and had 19 offensive boards.

The Lady Tigers were 28-66 from the floor for a .424 pct, while Ole Miss shot 19-58 from the field for a .328 figure. Clemson’s Itoro Umoh also had 14 points four rebounds and five assists.

The Lady Tigers will play host to Furman on Wednesday, November 18 at 7:00 p.m. in the Clemson’s next action.
