CLEMSON, S.C. – The Tigers hit the road for the first time in the 2018-19 season, traveling just down Interstate 385 to take on long-time rival South Carolina. Tipoff at Colonial Life Arena is set for 6:30 p.m. with Pam Ward and Carolyn Peck on the call for SEC Network. William Qualkinbush and Kelly Gramlich will have the radio call on Clemson Tigers Network.
Clemson tallied its second victory of the season with a 68-26 win over Lipscomb on Sunday. The 26 point scored by the Bisons tied the Clemson record for the fewest points scored by an opponent. The only other occurrences came in 1994 and 1998 against Florida State and UNC-Asheville, respectively.
The Gamecocks enter Thursday’s contest 1-0 after topping Alabama State 94-38 on Sunday. Four different South Carolina players posted double-digit outings in the game, led by Te’a Cooper who notched 17 points. As a team, the Gamecocks shot 40 percent from the 3-point arc, draining 10-of-25, with four off the hands of Destanni Henderson.
Clemson holds the all-time series edge at 33-30 but that mark falls to 11-18 when playing at Colonial Life Arena. In the last meeting between the two programs, the Gamecocks emerged victorious, 66-36 in Clemson. Kobi Thornton led the Tigers with eight points and 10 rebounds.
