CLEMSON, S.C. – The Clemson volleyball team is set to host their annual ‘Dig Pink’ match, in conjunction with The Side-Out Foundation, Sunday at 1 p.m. against Syracuse. The Tigers will wear pink jerseys during Sunday’s ACC tilt. Fans are also encouraged to wear pink to Jervey Gym to show their support for breast cancer awareness and the mission of the The Side-Out Foundation, raising funds for breast cancer awareness and research. Tiger fans are encouraged to donate to The Side-Out Foundation by clicking the following link.
“We could not be more excited to host our ‘Dig Pink’ match against Syracuse this Sunday,” said Clemson head coach Michaela Franklin. “The mission of Side-Out Foundation holds a special place in my heart as my mom is a 14-year breast cancer survivor. I would like to personally encourage all Tiger fans to please make a donation to the Side-Out Foundation and, of course, wear pink to Jervey Gym on Sunday.”
The first 300 fans in attendance at Sunday’s match will receive a free pink Clemson fanny pack. All breast cancer survivors in attendance are invited to the court for the presentation of the Tigers’ starting lineup as well as partake in a post-match photo with the team.
The Dig Pink® Rally is The Side-Out Foundation’s October event that brings together volleyball players across the nation to raise funds for breast cancer research, demonstrate the power of teamwork, and show support for people with the disease. Money raised through Dig Pink® supports The Side-Out’s game-changing cancer research and programs to develop the whole player.
Prior to Clemson’s ‘Dig Pink’ match Sunday, the Tigers will play host to Boston College (5-13, 2-6 ACC) Friday at 7 p.m. Friday’s rematch against the Eagles will air on ACC Network Extra. Clemson fell, 3-0 (24-26, 10-25, 12-25), to Boston College in Chestnut Hill, Mass., on Oct. 8.
The Tigers will also look to get revenge on the Orange (14-7, 6-2 ACC) Sunday as Clemson fell 3-0 (17-25 16-25, 21-25) in Syracuse, N.Y., on Oct. 6. Syracuse faces Georgia Tech in Atlanta, Ga., Friday, Oct. 20.
