Volleyball Rallies to Defeat Maryland 3-1

COLLEGE PARK, MD – The Clemson Tiger volleyball team rallied after losing the first game of Saturday evening’s match with Maryland to take an 8-15, 15-8, 15-6, 15-9 win. The Tigers swept the Terrapins in conference play this year. Clemson improves to 12-15 overall and 5-8 in the ACC while Maryland drops to 13-13 overall and 4-10 in conference play.

The Tigers were paced by Jodi Steffes who tallied a match-high 27 kills and .490 hitting percentage with 16 digs. Kiki Dallao and Laura Jensen also recorded double-doubles. Dallao had 14 kills with 20 digs and three service aces while Jensen added 11 kills with ten digs. Jackie Dalleska recorded a match-high four blocks (three solo) while Jessi Betcher dished out 60 assists with ten digs. Clemson outhit the Terrapins .288 to .222.

Maria DiLivio led Maryland with 18 kills and 14 digs while Carey Brennan added 14 kills and 15 digs. Lindsay Davey handed out 52 assists with 13 digs and Maren Stuart had two service aces, ten digs and 11 kills.

Clemson hosts the University of North Carolina Tar Heels next Tuesday, Nov. 7., at 7:00 p.m. Admission is free to all Tiger home volleyball matches.
