CLEMSON, S.C. – The Clemson volleyball team beat Georgia Tech, 2-1, in a best of three sets scrimmage Thursday in Jervey Gym. The Tigers tallied the last three points of the third set (to 15 points) to take the set, 15-11, and match.

“I thought it was awesome to play at home in front of our home crowd for the first time,” said second-year Clemson head coach Michael Franklin. “I think the biggest thing right now as I told our team is that anytime we have an opportunity to win, we have to take advantage of that. So, it was good to get that win tonight.”

Making her career debut in Jervey Gym was transfer outside hitter Brooke Bailey. The former Buckeye saw plenty of action Thursday.

“Tonight was great. We had a really good fan base tonight for how low-key of a match this was,” said Bailey. “It was just fun to be on this court for the first time with my teammates – really exciting.”

The Tigers return to Jervey Gym Friday, April 13, as they host Georgia State at 5 p.m., for the final home scrimmage of the 2018 spring season.
