Volleyball Concluded Spring Season At Great Lakes Center NCAA Spring Invitational

AURORA, IL – The Clemson volleyball team concluded its spring season over the weekend at the Great Lakes Center NCAA Spring Invitational in Aurora, IL, posting a 1-3 record in the tournament. The Tigers played without the services of honorable mention All-American Danielle Hepburn who suffered a sprained her ankle in Clemson’s win over Illinois-Chicago on Thursday evening.

The games were played to 25 points, instead of the normal 30 points, with the match winner determined by a best-of-three game format.

The Tigers defeated Kansas in their final match of the day. The Jayhawks claimed the first frame, 25-21, before Clemson rebounded to win the second, 25-20, and the third 15-11. Earlier in the day, the Tigers fell to Bowling Green (25-19, 25-22) and dropped a pair of three-game matches.

Clemson won the first game against Michigan State, 25-22, before falling in the final two, 25-11, 15-11. North Carolina claimed the first frame over the Tigers, 25-23, but Clemson tied the match with a 25-18 victory in game two. The Tar Heels then clinched the win with the 15-9 win in the deciding game.

Overall, Clemson had a 4-3 record for the spring.
