Van Adrichem Falls In First Round Of ITA National Indoor Championships

COLUMBUS, OH – Tiger women’s tennis player Federica van Adrichem was defeated in the opening round of the 2005 ITA National Indoor Championships on Thursday, Nov. 3. Northwestern’s Cristelle Grier, the 11th-ranked and sixth-seeded player in the tournament, won a 7-5, 6-1 decision over the Clemson freshman at The Racquet Club of Columbus in Columbus, OH. Van Adrichem finished the fall season with a 9-3 record, which included six victories at the ITA Southeast Regional to become just the second Tiger women’s tennis player to win the event.

Clemson will begin the 2006 spring season on Jan. 28 against the College of Charleston at the Hoke Sloan Tennis Center on the Clemson campus.
