Tye Hill, Scott Kautz And The Relay Teams Highlight Tigers’ Day Two At Georgia Tech Invitational

ATLANTA, GA – The Clemson men’s track and field completed competition at the Georgia Tech Invitational on Saturday at the George C. Griffin Track. Tye Hill, Tye Hill placed second in the event with a regional qualifying time of 40.05. The Tigers’ 4x400m relay team of Michael Bolling, Roy Cheney, Warren Eure and Otto Spain also qualified for the regional meet, winning the event in 3:07.23.

Tye Hill was eighth in 21.63. Roy Cheney recorded a time of 18.26 in the 110m hurdles, and Marcus Hodge posted a time of 52.91 in the 400m hurdles. Ryan Fenton’s time of 9:14.69 in the 3000m steeplechase was a personal-best performance.

In the field events, George Kitchens set the Clemson record with a leap of 25’10.75″ to win the event, and Derek Gilson and Matt Lombardi competed in the shot put, recording marks of 51’8.5″ and 51’8.25″, respectively.
