Two Tiger Women’s Soccer Players Named to ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District Team

CLEMSON, SC – Two Clemson women’s soccer players were named to the ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District 3 First Team as announced by CoSIDA (College Sports Information Director’s of America) on Thursday afternoon. Seniors Julie Bolt and Molly Johnson earned the award for the Tigers. For Johnson, it was her second consecutive first-team honor by the association.

Bolt leads the 2008 Tigers in scoring with nine goals and one assist for 19 points. The senior forward ranks fourth among all Atlantic Coast Conference players in goals per game (0.69), sixth in points per game (1.46) and in a tie for seventh in goals (9). The Charleston, SC native graduated with an undergraduate degree in Psychology in May of 2008 with a cumulative GPA of 3.57 and is now pursuing a master’s degree in Counselor Education.

Johnson earns first-team all-district honors for the second consecutive year. The senior from Stuart, FL has anchored the Tiger defense for the past four seasons, having started all 80 games of her Clemson career, and has also scored three goals and one assist in 2008. Johnson has a 3.96 cumulative grade point average in marketing.
