Two Clemson Rowers Honored by the College of Arts, Architecture, and Humanities

Clemson, SC – Junior rowers Andrea Belbusti and Michelle Nance recently received awards from the College of Architecture, Arts, and Humanities for their outstanding contributions to Clemson University.

Belbusti was awarded the Energy Automotive Award for excellence in the Language and International Trade major. The award is given to students who demonstrate excellence in scholarship, leadership in the L&IT program and commitment to international initiatives on campus and elsewhere. Belbusti has spent the majority of the season as the coxswain for the 16th ranked Varsity 8+ crew.

Nance was the recipient of the Blue Key Academic and Leadership Award. The award is given to one student in each of the five academic colleges who has distinguished themselves in terms of academic scholarship and campus leadership. Nance, a native of Simpsonville, SC, is a member of the 16th ranked Varsity 8+ crew. She rowed with the Varsity 8+ all of last season and helped lead the Tigers to the school’s first ever appearance in the NCAA rowing championships. Nance has also competed internationally as a member of the United States Women’s 4- team, which placed fourth at the U23 world championships last summer. In addition, Nance has been named a National Scholar Athlete by the Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association and was a member of the Academic All-ACC team last season.
